7 Things I'm Excited About This Week
In brief before the sparkle wanes:
1. Frankie and Grace renewed for season 6 by Netflix!
Two amazing (well) over-fifty actresses in starring roles, taking on topics of sex, dating, family, friendship, aging, relevancy, entrepreneurship with realism, humor, and courage. Wha??? I love this show.
2. Christmas decorations down, boxed, and garaged!
Maybe next year I will go through them, organize, and cull so that rather than bringing in eight bins and cherry picking items from each, I can bring in only two bins of essentials. Kondo Christmas.
3. Scored a pair of Diane Von Furstenberg polka dot cigarette pants at 60% off!
Hardly requires explanation. Bought online, so I'm just hoping I look as fabulous in them as the model did.
4. Rain boots!
It’s been raining for the last week, and I have a new, super cheery pair of rain boots. (Thank you, Santa.) The bad news is the skylight in our living room is leaking. Still, rain boots!
5. Women’s March!
I know there’s been some controversy surrounding some of the organizers but I still firmly believe in the march itself. Getting out there doesn’t mean you’re supporting the views of a few individuals. It means you’re amplifying the voices of women—all women—standing up for progress, diversity, tolerance, and truth. Unity is power, and if we allow ourselves to be divided, we lose our strength.
6. I got my deep sleep up to 1 hour and 43 minutes this week!
I recently started using the sleep tracking app Autosleep and discovered I have been getting terrible sleep. I didn’t actually need an app to tell me that, but now it’s catalogued with a nightly colored graph, which makes me feel that somehow I have more control.
7. I launched Maven!
And at least one person (you, THANK YOU) is reading it! This is something I've been thinking about for awhile. I keep asking myself why I really want to put myself through this effort but I think when an idea refuses to leave you, there's probably a reason, and it's worth finding out where it will lead.
